Alex Medina/Ävalanche started his career in 1993 when he fell in love with electronic music. Since then he has performed in clubs–such as Watergate and Der Visionaire in Berlin–and festivals around Europe and occasionally in Asia.

His music ranges from deep house to the most hypnotic deep techno and electronica. He has been charted by artists such as Ritchie Hawtin. He has shared booth with Matthew Dear, Someone Else, Alex Under, Barem, Gaiser, Heartthrob, Butane or Paul Ritch, among others. After many years releasing his work under other labels, in 2017 he decides to create his own label, Mumbai Records.

The label’s first releases have received very good critiques. Mumbai Records’ philosophy is to find the balance between electronic and organic sounds. The label acts as a platform for emerging artists.

Medina has been involved in several projects with other musicians, and has approached pop electronics and ambient creating bands such as Tropical Barba and Nectar.Medina is currently performing live as Ävalanche, his deep techno analog live act journey.

He has conducted several electronic music radio shows in Spain – D-Votion and Planet Love. He opened one of the first shops in the Canary Islands specialising in electronic music and worked for various record distribution companies in Madrid and Barcelona.

Since 2000 he has promoted his own events -Guateque, Intro and Splash- in the Canaries introducing top international artists in the archipelago. As a Dj Alex Medina embraces his most organic side under the aka Negro Hamaquero and showing his passion for jazz, funk, soul, raregroove, disco…
